                                 Sources of Stress

Stress is the body's response to increased tension. Stress is normal: accepting challenges; concentrating on doing a task; making important decisions; having sex.

Too much stress impairs hormonal glands (production of hormone epinephrine), leading to many health problems, including heart disease. Stress can cause premature aging and shorten
longevity.

Stress comes from the body and the mind.

                                      Body Stress

Body stress is manifested in aches and pains, breathing problems, eating disorders, excess sweating, fatigue, headaches, indigestion and constipation, muscle strain and stillness.

Sources of aches and pains, diseases and disorders:

Diet: foods causing inflammation, toxin buildup, formation of free radicals damaging body cells and tissues, leading to diseases.

Exercise: excess or lack of exercise causing joint pain, and muscle tension.

Sleep: insomnia or lack of sleep leading to many health issues

Toxicity: toxins from alcohol and nicotine, pharmaceutical drugs, processed foods and drinks alcohol resulting in ailments and disorders.

Body stress affects the mind due to the inter-connection between the body and the mind.

                                       Mind Stress

Mind stress originates from the ego-self, which was formed and shaped since birth by both the conscious and subconscious mind that make people think who and what they have now become. To protect the ego-self, they project their past into the future in the form of desires and expectations; they begin to pick and choose in order to repeat what they desire and to fulfill what they expect, while avoiding anything that might not sustain the ego-self. This is how mind stress is created.

To let go of the ego-self:
mindfulness of the present (only the present is real: the past was gone, and the future is yet to come); meditation to have clarity of mind to see what is real and what is unreal, as well as to see all things in perspective.

Stress is all in the mind. William Shakespeare: "There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so." John Milton: "The mind is its own place, and in itself can make Heaven of Hell, or a Hell of Heaven."

                                      Soul Wellness

Soul wellness holds the key to stress relief:
let the soul supervise the mind that controls the body.

Stress comes from a toxic mind with toxic thoughts and emotions: anger, envy, greed, regret, vengeance. Soul wellness is built on compassion,
empathy, forgiveness, loving-kindness. Soul wellness is the inter-connection between souls. Understanding that "no man is an island" opens the heart and the soul to diminish, if not to let go, the ego-self, thereby instrumental in relieving stress

Soul wellness provides human wisdom to see things as they are, and not as what they should be or expected to be.
